Throughout 20+ years of crafting wigs, we have seen the challenges that consumers face when trying to select, buy and maintain a wig. For that reason, we have gathered together helpful tips to make purchasing with HAUTE PIXIE: THE SHORT WIG COLLECTION a comfortable experience. With a clear understanding, this HAUTExpert Guide will assist you in making the proper wig selection and extend the life span of your wig.

  • For a first time wig wearer, wear a style and color worn before for a comfortable relation.

  • Select a wig that compliments your face shape for a flattering appeal, see Face Shapes.

  • Wear your wig with confidence!

  • Try a new wig style to unlock a new you. Don't be afraid to step outside the box.

  • Braid or wrap your natural hair flat as possible and secure with a wig cap for a proper fit.

  • Measure your head properly for an accurate fit, see Head Measuring Chart.

  • Invest in products designed specifically for Human Hair wigs.

  • When the wig is not worn, place on a wig stand to maintain the form and shape of the unit.

  • Avoid sleeping in your wig regularly. If you must sleep in your wig, cover with a satin cap or rest head on a satin pillow case.

  • Always wear a breathable wig cap under your wig to protect the natural hair and scalp.

  • Do not brush the unit while it is wet.

  • Never brush curly style wigs; use the tips of your fingers for detailing your curls.

  • Avoid using excessive heat on your unit. Too much heat can damage the strands the hair. Remember it's Human Hair, it acts and behaves like your own hair.

  • Consider ordering two of the same style. While one is being cleaned or needs style maintenance the back up unit will come in handy.

  • In between cleanings utilize a Dry Shampoo. The dry shampoo will absorb dirt, oil and revitalize your wig with volume.

  • Do not neglect your natural hair. Shampoo and condition your hair when needed.

  • For everyday wig wearers, your unit should be cleaned every two to three weeks. For occasional wig wearers, clean when needed.

  • Never share a wig with a friend. It is unsanitary and could cause possible scalp infections.

  • When the wig is not worn, store in a dry dust free area such as a enclosed closet or storage box covered with a hairnet and/or plastic.
