The hair used to make HAUTE PIXIE: THE SHORT WIG COLLECTION is 100% Virgin Human Hair harvested from various  countries around the world such as; Brazil, Peru, India, Malaysia, Mongolia, Russia and Cambodia. Factories obtain the hair by contracting individuals in certain villages or monasteries to grow hair for a period of time. Under the contract, individuals are asked to follow a strict diet full of certain vitamins and minerals to produce a healthy batch of hair. When the contract expires, representatives from the factories retrieves the hair to have it properly manufactured for wefts and wig construction.  

In addition to our Virgin Human Hair, we also have Remy Human Hair. What are the differences between the two? Virgin hair is harvested from one donor, not chemically processed, and the cuticle layer of the strand is still intact. Whereas Remy hair is Human Hair harvested from different donors, the hair has been slightly chemically processed with 90% of the cuticle layer affected by the process. Both Virgin and Remy Hair allow free flowing movement and are very natural looking in appearance. The benefits of Virgin and Remy Human Hair are: both can be chemically treated/processed and curled with heated tools.  The determining factor is the pricing investment, and desired end result.

 

Grades of Hair

 

The grade of hair is a grading system to determine the classification of the hair. The grading system was invented for the buyer's accessibility to help decide the type of hair to be purchased and the quality.

5A Grade is a lower/medium grade of 100% Remy Human Hair with a thin hair shaft that can last up to 6 months with care.

 

6A Grade is a high grade of 100% Human Remy Hair with a medium hair shaft that can last up to 1 year with proper maintenance.

 

7A Grade is a high quality 100% Human Remy Hair with a strong hair shaft and cuticle that can last up to 18 months with proper maintenance.

 

8A/9A Grade are premium grades of 100% Virgin Human Hair (unprocessed/one donor), the cuticle layer is intact, and has a very strong hair shaft. Can last up to 2 years with proper care and maintenance.

 

10A Grade is the highest quality of 100% Virgin Human Hair (unprocessed from one donor). The hair strand is very thick in diameter, strong, with the cuticle layer intact. This hair does not require much maintenance and will last for years.

Note: The batches of hair used to make our wigs are from  single or different donors therefore, batches used cannot be duplicated however the grade of hair will remain the same.
